The newest Wilco CD, entitled Wilco, has been released just in time for the wake of the fans excitement about the bands DVD Ashes of American Flags. Ashes of American Flags is a DVD of live footage from the bands 2008 bus journey across the US. It gave fans a great look at not only the band, but also the US, and left them wanting more.
Since I am a long time fan of Wilco I was, especially their albums over live performances, I was worried about all the controversy when Warner Bros. rejected the submission of this album. Along with other fans, through emails and letters, they became aware that more of Wilco [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] was what wee wanted.
Being [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] their seventh album, it is hard to believe that their reputation [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] could have been doubted, but unfortunately, with the industry that they are in, it sometimes come down to who you know not what talent you have. Thankfully, after a slight delay, their seventh album is here and it not only shows their musical talent, but [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the maturity of a comfort with the music that can be felt from the first to the last track.
Many thought that this self-titled album would be a wild [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] mix, similar to that of Yankee Foxtrot Hotel, however, it [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] is more heavily influenced by pop music of the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] 1960s and 1970s with songs like Sunny Feeling, and You Never Know making it [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] more similar to the more traditional sounds of Sky Blue Sky. [link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
The sound of this new album are the best yet. There is a mix of guitar strumming, big choruses and incredible slide [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] guitar sounds, along with their first [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] ever doubt "You and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] I." Although similar sounding, every track has it own uniqueness that makes this band hotter then ever.
